Emma's 7th Birthday-Angel Fire '14

A few weeks ago we loaded up and headed

to one of my favorite places on earth...

Angel Fire, NM!

the drive was enjoyable bc of the beautiful scenery!

the sun was setting just as we were about 

to get in to the mountains! It was beautiful!

We got to the cabin late and all 

unloaded and crashed!

and up bright and early the next morning 

the girls decided to practice with their new 

fishing poles!

Soph even got her own adorable little

Mammy & Sophie enjoyed the porch

swing and the fabulous 50* morning!

{um, yes, please!}

while the older kiddos hiked around!

Heavenly!

After a yummy breakfast we headed to Taos and 

the Rio Grande Gorge!

Flashback to the last time we were here...

we've grown by 2!

After a hike down the gorge to some 

hot springs, we went back to the cabin 

and cleaned up

and had a delicious dinner 

followed by a camp fire!

Fabulous end to a fabulous day!

Birthday snuggles with Daddy!

Flashback to 2010

The most beautiful 7 year old I know!

We got ready for the day and headed down to the 

Angel Fire Rotary Club Pancake Breakfast!

It was yummy!

So proud of my beautiful big girl,

she loves Jesus, {THANK YOU LORD!}

she is kind, loving, tender hearted, generous,

motherly to her siblings, thoughtful, extremely bright,

and loved more than she'll ever know! 

She was the answered prayer Ritchie and I 

prayed for!

After breakfast and play,

we loaded up and headed to

my favorite main street town,

Red River

for the 4th of July parade!

all ready for the parade!

Ethan  Loved the firetrucks and old Corvettes!

I think he waved the entire time!

After the parade we had lunch and then

walked over to the Red River ponds to fish!

ask any of the kids,

this was their favorite thing we did...

Next we headed to Taos for a bit of shopping 

on the square, then a delicious pizza dinner

and then it was fireworks time!

we were all pleasantly surprised by 

the fabulous fireworks display by 

the City of Taos! Almost better than Amarillo's!

Perfect ending to a perfect day with our Emma girl!

The next day we spent the day playing

 on the mountain in Angel Fire!

Ethan, Abby & Emma did the 

Eurobungy and the rockclimbing wall!

They all did really well for their first time rock climbing!

We were all impressed!

After playing at the base of the mountain we road

the ski lift up to the top of the mountain!

the view was spectacular!

We ate lunch at the Summit Haus,

it was yummy and the view was even better!

But before we could even finish our meal and enjoy a little 

hike around, it started raining...and haling...lots and lots of hail!

It.was.nuts!

Because of the storm, they shut down the ski lift,

so we were stuck. at the top of the mountain.for 2 hours!

Talk about family bonding time!

No, it really was fun!

After a couple of hours of waiting on the storm

to pass we finally were rescued by the Angel Fire Resort

shuttle bus!

Whew!

Ethan entertained his sweet baby sister!

We were happy to be back at the cabin!

The next morning we loaded up and headed for Amarillo

We stopped off in Cimarron Canyon National Forrest 

before getting on the road!
