News!

We have some exciting news!
We have been renting this home
for a little over a year now and
have been house hunting for
just about that long.

Since we moved to Fort Worth
we have fallen in LOVE with our
sweet little neighborhood and
the kids school!
{which happens to be a block away! Score!}
So we knew that we wanted
to stay in our same area, and after
looking and looking and looking with no luck
of finding exactly what would fit our needs
we finally decided to see if our landlord
would be interested in selling us our house!
Ritchie called and asked if he'd be interested...
he said yes! and we are now currently under contract
in the purchase of our home in
Fort Worth!

YIPPEEEEE!
~no moving
~no packing
~no unpacking
~no moving truck rental
~no boxes!
NONE!

{an old pic, before we moved in, that
little tree on the left is HUGE now!}

Now for the fun part...
making our house a home!
OUR Home!
I've been itching to start planing, painting, decorating...
Spring is in the air = yard work, flowers, green lawns!
Yay!

And here's my first project I've tackled inside!!

our hideously dated & mismatched kids bath.
{I sold my shower curtain on fb! yay!}

and went from this ^
to this v

I used chalk paint on my bath vanity
and am loving how it turned out!

we got rid of our hideous builder grade, gold 80's light fixture
{forgot to get a pic before we took it down...but this is similar}

to this beaut!
{terrible pic, but with no natural light in this room,
it was my best shot!}

next we chose a pretty light gray color for the walls.
Its from Home Depot and is called 'Light French Gray'
I knew I wanted to make this bath a little more masculine,
since Ethan is now officially pottty trained and using it.
So I was very picky on the paint color. I didnt want the gray I
chose to be too purpley. I wanted a more blue/green undertone.
I think it's the perfect color for this room!
I LOVE it!

now on to my favorite pieces of the room...

my beautiful shower curtain!
{TJ Maxx baby!}
Funny thing about this curtain, I bought the paint
for the walls and the curtain at different times.
I had my paint first, then just a picture in my head
of what I wanted for my shower curtain,
stumbled upon this gem and thought, eh-if it doesnt work
I'll bring it back.
But, I LOVE how it ties the room together
so beautifully!

my other favorite thing about this room...

the hooks!!

I knew that I wanted something different than
what I had before...{an ugly wooden towel rod}.
And I saw a mud room on Pinterest with hooks all
along the wall and thought, hmm, that's cool looking.
Perfection!
One hook for each kiddo!
My next project is new white
towels with each kid's initials on them! :)
{I might be a little obsessed with monogramming!}

While at Home Depot with the hubs
I stumbled upon my new best friend!

seriously...its the best thing ever!
{at $6 bucks a can, it was the cheapest,
and easiest update I've done!}

I used it on my hand towel hanger, it was
just shiney silver before...

my t.p. holder, and trashcan...

and my shower curtain rod!
{next on the list...that ugly gold door knob!}

Bam! It all matches and has a cohesive flow!
Since this is a kids bath you'd think that I would
do a more kiddie theme, but I tend to get
tired of 'themes, prints, colors' so I didn't
want a babyish theme, especially since it also
serves as our guest bath!
I think that it's the perfect balance of
trend and functionality!

We've come a long way!
It really is amazing how much better it looks!

I've got a few more things that I want to do,
pictures, accessories and then I'll be done!
Yay!
One room down, several more to go!
Stick around! :)

After dinner we walked around Sundance Square!
the girls decided it would be fun to run
thru the fountains,
{bc it was warm Momma finally gave in...}
But guess who was 'freezing' afterwards :)

Sophie had fun dancing around and watching
the fountains go up & down!
